No Movember but Dinovember

These parents are doing it right!

Last night I came across this website where a couple created Dinovember for their kids. The parents make their children every November believe that when they are asleep their plastic toy dinosaurs come to life. So every morning the kids wake up to some mess in the kitchen, living room or wherever the dino’s have caused havoc. The comments of the kids are so cute too: ‘Don’t let Mom and Dad see this, the dinosaurs drew on the wall.’

And the reason?

‘Why do we do this? Because in the age of iPads and Netflix, we don’t want our kids to lose their sense of wonder and imagination. In a time when the answers to all the world’s questions are a web-search away, we want our kids to experience a little mystery. All it takes is some time and energy, creativity, and a few plastic dinosaurs.

Childhood is fleeting, so let’s make sure it’s fun while it lasts.’

Oh and they also have a Facebook page to join, see more of what the dino’s have done ‘last night’ and get some ideas from for your kids or nieces and nephews!
