A fun tv-show I enjoy watching is Drop Dead Diva. It’s about Jane Bingum (Brooke Elliott), a lawyer, and actually also about Deb, a model, at the same time. Deb died in a car crash, went to heaven, didn’t agree with the fact that she died, pressed a return button and woke up in Jane’s body. Jane is not quite a model with her overweight body, but she is super smart. With Deb’s wit Jane comes up with creative solutions to win court cases. This series (already in its 6th season) is a bit of Legally Blonde in a fa….bulous new body.
Of course the usual love-drama ensues as well. Grayson Kent, Deb’s fiancé, works with Jane, which makes it confusing for her to be around him. Jane is not allowed to tell anyone about who she really is (well, who is she really? Deb’s soul in Jane’s body, but with Jane’s smartness, yes, it wouldn’t be easy to explain anyway…), so she can’t just let Grayson know that Deb is still around.
Jane has help from a guardian angel, helping her, and preventing her from telling the truth about Deb, and from Deb’s best friend Stacy, who realizes early on who Jane really is. The side-kicks help Deb cope with the fact that she will never be Deb again, and how to live on as Jane. The comedian Margaret Cho as Jane’s assistant Teri is really great to watch. Her comedic timing is spot on and her comments are sassy. Teri doesn’t know who Jane really is, but helps her at work to be the best Jane she can be.
Drop Dead Diva, because sometimes life throws you curves!

“Didn’t agree with the fact she died” That by its self is hilarious enough!
