Everybody has got a dream they want to achieve… Live a certain life style? Become famous? Have a certain career? Get rich? Travel? An ideal partner?
But not everybody chases those dreams. But why not actually? Are they too afraid to get disappointed? Are they afraid to fail? Do they not dare to leave their comfort zone behind to see what will happen when they take the plunge?
In the book The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho there is also a person who deliberately does not chase his dream. His reason is that he is afraid that when he has pursued his dream, he has nothing left to live for. Therefore he stays within the village, working as a salesman and does not travel to Mecca. But why should your life stop as soon as you’ve reached your dream? Why do so many people just dream?
Go for it and see what happens! Maybe you won’t get any further than just trying and you won’t achieve that goal. But then at least you have tried! You know the dream cannot be reached and you can try to chase other dreams. And when you have pursued that dream they way you wanted it to happen, that’s just great, right? And it doesn’t have to stop there, you can go and chase new dreams! You know it’s possible!
About 7 years ago I also just took the plunge and started my world trip, all by myself. I could have been home after 2 weeks already, in case I didn’t like it. But no, I have been traveling for 18 months, had many wonderful and interesting experiences and actually I only went home because it was time to do so (my sister was getting married and I was in the bridal party). Instead of fulfilling my dream, I could also have decided to stay at home, take a job I actually didn’t really like and stay within my comfort zone. I’m now so happy I decided to just go for it and just did it so I’ve traveled all the way around the world. So yes, this dream is completely fulfilled!! Time for new dreams to be fulfilled…
That’s why I’m saying: Keep on living the life of your dreams!!!
