Another little guilty pleasure of mine is watching make-over shows. Whether it’s a home make over or somebody’s wardrobe, I love seeing the changes it brings about in the people.
Extreme Make-over Home Edition is a show that definitely brings out the tears in me, holy shizz. People who have lost almost everything that would call their house a home, get a totally new beautiful place to live in, like they’re coming home again. Okay, some of the things may a bit over the top (a huge flat-screen tv in every room, seriously?), but for some reason they really deserve to be spoiled so much. Wish we could do that for a ot more people than just the few episodes per tv season.
I also love any make-over shows for clothing and style. Sometimes it’s more of a make-under, dressing less over the top and more classy and good looking. But even the smallest changes, wearing some more accessories, a pop of color in make-up or high heels, can bring out a whole new person. Wearing high heels gives a new posture and confidence that wasn’t there. Just that pop of color on the lips gives a sparkle, a gloss that wasn’t visible before. I sometimes would love to have that as a job that as well: help people bring out their best selves, look as beautiful as they were meant to look, take them out of their cocoon and flutter like a butterfly, take the wallflower and turn them into the belle of the ball.
Yeah, my guilty pleasure is seeing people bloom and blossom and sparkle again. Isn’t that bad, is it?
