I just wanted to share how much I enjoy the comedy-series 2 Broke Girls. In short: Caroline was a trustfund princess, until her dad got sent to jail for scheming with money. She then meets street smart Max, gets to work in the same Williamsburg (NYC) diner and learns that Max bakes delicious cupcakes. They decide to save money to start their own cupcake business. As the episodes progress it shows how much money they saved, or lost, that week to get to their goal.
The characters are a bit over the top, most of the jokes have a double-entendre, are sexist and raunchy, and the storyline is thin (I really don’t care if they get the cupcake business anymore), but every time again I’m laughing my head off.
Max is absolutely gorgeous and deliciously blunt in her comments. Caroline is a ditzy blonde who learns her street smart from Max. Their boss, Han, is always being teased by everybody else. The other characters, Earl, Oleg and Sophie, add some more flavor and color to the show. Also the latest addition to the group, the day waiter (or better said: the gay waiter) is too much over the top with sprinkles and glitter and a cherry on the whipped cream, but it all adds to the fun.
Oh, and I am always craving cupcakes after watching this….. I really wished somebody would open up one in this town that I live in, just for me…. Maahaaax? Caroliiiiine?
